  • Lantern Hill

    LOCAL: Aside from the hiking, you can do right here on the farm, Lantern Hill has been voted the best place for hiking with views. The hike does have some steep terrain and rock so suggest walking sticks which you can borrow from the farm and packing a bag with water and snacks.     Avalonia now conserves 4000 acres of land, preserved in perpetuity. Where appropriate, trails are maintained for passive enjoyment, including hiking, birdwatching, nature study, and photography.   • Misquamicut State Park Beach

    The Misquamicut State Beach is a three-mile park along the Atlantic Ocean. The Rhode Island state park features several facilities like parking areas, hot and cold showers, changing rooms, restrooms, first aid, and a lifeguard, plus a swingset and play area for children, a picnic deck area, and concession stands. $20 daily parking.

    Family-owned and operated since 1881, B.F. Clyde’s Cider Mill is a piece of living history. Enjoy sweet cider, hard cider, wine, cider donuts, and many local goods.     Ride in beautiful New England forests with babbling creeks, mountain views, and breathtaking foliage. About 35 minutes from 100 Acre Wood. Trail riding lessons are offered 7 days a week, year-round. Riders must be at least 6 years of age. Trail rides start at $65 per person.
